Alexandros Vavatzanidis (b. 1998) is a South African/Greek composer, classical guitarist, and teacher. He holds a Master of Music cum laude, analysing the compositional techniques of Einojuhani Rautavaara. Alexandros is proud to have premiered international works on the classical guitar, and have his compositions performed and recorded by various ensembles. He has received awards for his chamber and symphonic works, and his music is often described as raw, rhythmically charged, and cinematic. Taking inspiration from a diverse palette of sounds, ranging from impressionism to heavy metal, Alexandros strives to continue blurring the boundaries of Western Art Music.
